Organizing A Prenup / Engagement Shoot

Last Monday, I went with a couple on their prenup (engagement shoot) session. I love the experience of going to different places, meeting interesting people, and discovering something new.
Prior to the prenup date, the necessary coordination has to be made. Here are the steps we took and the learnings that came in the process:
Step 1
Check if the prenup service is part of the photography/videography package that the couple booked for their wedding. Whether your prenup is part of the package or an added service by the same or another supplier, clarify how many hours and locations are allowed. Suppliers normally charge for extra hours. This includes travel time from one location to another. Additional out-of-town charges also applies.
Step 2
Pick a theme or concept that represents you as a couple. If you are clueless or undecided, try to take this quizto find out.
Step 3
Based on your theme, make a shortlist and decide on the location or venue for your prenup. Ask your photographer for suggestions. Some of them keep a list of prenup venues with corresponding rental and/or entrance fees.
Save on gas from out-of-town prenup shoots. Spot.ph suggests 12 favorite prenup themes along with the gorgeous spots within Metro Manila.
Step 4
Choose a hair and makeup artist for the prenup. Try to get the supplier you booked for your wedding day. This will help them know how to enhance your best feature.
If you can, get a stylist. Not necessarily a professional. He/she may be a family, friend, or relative who is creative and passionate in fashion and beauty. Bringing a variety of thematic props and accessories is a big plus.
Step 5
Decide on the date and time of your prenup. Have 2 to 3 alternative dates. It’s best to schedule on weekdays. Photographers, makeup artists, stylists, and venues are normally booked during weekends. Pin the date based on everyone’s availability.

Charmed by Rustic Vintage

An inspiration board is the first step in putting together a thematic wedding. For one of our January 2012 wedding, the bride wants a rustic vintage look.

While searching the net for design pegs, a love for something old, classic, and timeless was kindled.
